University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna
The University of Veterinary Medicine Vienna (Vetmeduni Vienna) is the only academic education- and research centre for veterinary medicine in Austria and the oldest in German-speaking countries. The Campus is located in the 21st district of Vienna, where about 2200 students and 1000 employees can make use of cutting-edge training and research facilities.
The animal hospital, numerous spin-off enterprises and branches of business partners also are located on campus. Research is concentrated into four main areas, (i) Regulation of physiological and pathophysiological processes, (ii) Infection, prevention and innovative diagnostics, (iii) Biomedicine and biotechnology, and (iv) Food safety and risk analysis.
The mission of the Vetmeduni Vienna is education and further training within the sphere of veterinary medicine. The Vetmeduni Vienna attaches great importance to academic, research driven education, combined with practical experience. The Animal Hospital is at your disposal all year long and 24 hours a day.
