Michael Fischer studied electrical engineering with specialization on telecommunications at the Vienna University of Technology and earned his Master degree in 2006 with distinction. He is employed as a university assistant and has been involved in research on pulse based ultra-wideband sensor networks. Mr. Fischer is currently working on his PhD thesis which deals with satellite communications. He is planning and building a ground station for educational and scientific LEO satellites operating in VHF, UHF and S band. Beside his technical interests, he is actively involved in voluntary youth work and enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, especially hiking, camping and mountaineering.
