Gregor Toschkoff was born on February 14, 1982, in Klagenfurt in the south of Austria. After finishing grammar school in 2000, he attended one year of mandatory civil service at the Red Cross Austria. In 2002, he went to Graz to study physics at the Graz University of Technology, obtaining his master's degree in March 2009. His diploma thesis has the title Simulation of Transport Properties in Strained Si/SiGe Heterostructures with Modulated Confining Potentials. Guided by his preference for inter-disciplinary work, Gregor Toschkoff left the world of physics to work in his current position as a junior researcher at the Research Center Pharmaceutical Engineering, writing his PhD thesis on the numerical simulation of tablet coating.
