Melanie Todt was born in 1982 in Leoben, Austria. After finishing a technical high school in 2002, she started to study mechanical engineering at the Vienna University of Technology and received her master degree (DI) in 2008. Currently she is working as a scientific assistant at the Institute of Lightweight Design and Structural Biomechanics at Vienna University of Technology. Her research activities involve stability problems of carbon nano-structures and the continuum mechanics modeling of such structures.
