Kerstin Mair (née Bolzer) was born in Vienna in 1980 and started her carreer at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna. After receiving her Bachelor degree (2005) and her Master degree (2007) in biomedicine and biotechnology (both theses about genetical gene targeting in mice), she started her PhD thesis at the Institute of Immunology at the University of Veterinary Medicine, Vienna. The central point of her research interest and PhD thesis are the phenotypical and functional characterization of porcine Natural Killer cells. During her PhD studies she successfully presented her research as speaker or poster presenter.
