Barbara Grunewald grew up in Lima/Peru and Eindhoven/Netherlands. This international experience focused her interest in questions on Othering, Inclusion/Exclusion which she intensified in studies of Economics and Philosophy. Her professional experience focuses on the one side on the topic Gender Mainstreaming in Research and on the other side on Innovation Systems in the Urban Region. From this experience results the work on her PhD in Political Science. She focuses on the question of the influence Diversity (International Research Teams) can take on the dynamic of Technological Innovation Systems, with focus in Life Science.
