Magdalena Dlapka was born in 1984 and grew up in lower Austria. When she got into contact with chemistry for the first time, while she was still at school, she decided that this is the field she wants to work in later. Therefore she started her studies at the Vienna University of Technology in 2003. During this period she recognized her strong interest in Material science, especially in Metallic Materials. In September 2007 she started to work in Powder Metallurgy for her diplomawork and finished her Diploma in April 2008. Since that she is a PhD student in an international project called Höganäs Chair in Powder Metallurgy in corporation with Universities in Spain, Italy and Slovakia funded by Höganäs AB which is situated in Sweden.
